1. Citronella Oil.
Citronella oil is a renowned plant-based insect repellent with a non-toxic mode of action. This oil was like my 'fairy dust' at keeping all the ants and bugs away, especially mosquitoes; put a few drops near the door and windows of your hostel room. Theres also no need to spend alot of money on mosquito spray, just add a few drops of citronella oil to your body lotion/body wash and you will be left alone by all the blood sucking bugs....
2. Skin so Soft Avon products
These products contain citronella oil, so they are the already made version of what ive stated above.
3. Sarongs
These are a great must have travelling accessory, they are light, you can wear them, they dry quick and they replace a heavy beach towl by doing exactly the same job, and take up less room in your already packed out ruck sack.
4. VISAS
Apply for your visa's before you arrive at the border crossings, it works out cheaper, and also ensures that you can cross the border faster.

Beware of the Indian turbin wearing "fortune Tellers". They are scam artists, do not go with them.... We came across them in Bangkok, but they are everywhere.
7. TUK TUK DRIVERS
Be firm with Tuk Tuk drivers, especially in Cambodia. Make sure they take you to your destination first before you pay them. And never say 'maybe' or 'talk tomorrow' about trips as they take that to mean 'yes'.
8. CURRENCY
In Cambodia and Vietnam, you can use American dollars, however it works out cheaper to change to the local currency.
9. MALARIA TABLETS
